Applied skills

Integrated surgical simulation and training system for residents and medical specialists. It allows laparoscopic maneuvers such as Veress needle insertion and abdominal cavity insufflation. It has real-time monitoring of variables and simulation performance evaluation. Year 2015-2020.

Applied skills

Integrated system for long bone fracture reduction simulation and training. It allows obtaining the images in real time, monitoring variables and simulating the complete intervention. Year 2015 – 2020.

Integrated simulation and training system for open abdomen intervention – abdomen closure. It allows to perform maneuvers such as suturing, instrument handling and controlled insufflation to simulate inflammation in the abdominal cavity. Year 2015 – 2020.

Laparoscopic Instrumentation System

Applied skills

Functional model for simulating maneuvers with laparoscopic instruments in the abdominal cavity. The device connects to a virtual surgery environment to make the simulation more immersive. The system generates user performance report. Year 2018 – 2019.

ECO Bikes Smart Charger

Integrated smart fast charging system implemented in stationary bikes (ECO bikes), where you can charge your mobile devices while you exercise. It allows functionalities such as fast charging, wireless charging and bluetooth connection to play music and know all the activities that the bicycle has available to the user. Year 2018 – 2020.

Helium Technology

Applied skills

Through EAFIT University, in collaboration with Marte Technologies and Dynacad Technologies, the development of photovoltaic power generation technologies for the construction industry sector is achieved. A non-structural solar brick, a solar concentrator and a solar tracking system were developed, as well as a solar ceiba for charging electric vehicles and mobile devices. Year 2013 – 2016.

Applied skills

Indoor power generation system. It supplies energy for low consumption devices such as taps and electronically assisted toilets. Technological initiative developed between EAFIT University and the Corona company. Year 2017.


COVID 19 Solution Projects

Adaptation For Snorkeling Mask

Applied skills

Integrated uncontrolled air flow system that attaches to a snorkeling mask and in turn to a biosafety filter through a standard 3M coupling for personal protection masks. Protection against COVID 19 and maintains a pleasant environment without fogging or moisture accumulation. Year 2020.

Functional model of an electromechanical system for a portable respirator for patients who must be intubated for respiratory disorders caused by COVID 19. Year 2020.

Non-assisted neurological rehabilitation system for patients with deficit in the upper limb caused by pathology or trauma. While you are in therapy you can have fun as the device is operated through a video game. There is real-time monitoring of the patient’s performance and its evolution.

Folding stretcher for first aid. It is completely portable, designed to provide an agile and safe service. It has SmartLock technology as a self-locking system to speed up patient care, saving time for setting up the stretcher. Year 2016.
